Several former Moyale District officials were found guilty as charged and was sentenced up to 10 year in prison and a fine of up to 10,000 Ethiopian Birs fine.

The former Moyale District commissioner Mr. Ibrahim Bitati was sentenced 10 years in prison term and fined 10,000 Ethiopian Birs in his absence. According to eye witness statements, his prison terms will starts when ever he is found or captured. Because, he escaped to Kenya prior to his arrest.. Also, his former deputy commissioner Mr. Adan Abdi Boru was sentenced a 4 year in prison term and ordered to pay four thousand Birs. Furthermore, Mr. Khalif Sheikh Ahmed and Mr. Mohamed Dhera were sentenced two-year prison terms and ordered to pay two thousand birs each. In addition, seven formers and current officials from Udatt District were told that their cases have been transferred to the Filto District Court and they will be arraigned there and they will be notified on a later date when they have report there.

Also, three others were found not guilty for lack of enough evidence or witnesses, they are Mr. Abdulqadir Qayanne, Mr. Edin Malin Aliyow and Mr. Ibrahim Sheikh Amay.
