The Gharri elders, and current Mandera West MP Mr. Mohamud Mohamed along with  former MPS, including Mohamed Abdow, Aredo, Adan M. Noor, are in Mandera discussing  a peace conference between the Gharri and Murale.

It was said that the main agenda was to discuss  how to allow the murale people to come back and re-settle in El Wak. But, that agenda was put in the back seats. According to a meeting participant, the Allango issue changed the El Wak issues the sticking question was why was Murale allowed to drill water well at the place where both the Gharri and Murales were removed and declared as a buffer zone? 

The Murale officials, government representatives including Northeastern PC and the Gharri officials were unable to reach an agreement. So the meeting was adjourned after midnight on Saturday and they are expected to return to the negotiation table today at 4:00 o’clock their time. video
